The bells of St Nick’s, Radford, used to ring
for Sunday services; my choirboy days!
Remembering those hymns we used to sing
you’ll hear me sing along to Songs of Praise.
I’ve sung my way through all my troubled years.
We sang to celebrate the good times too.
In Navy days the singing drowned our fears.
In Peace we’d, ‘Bless ‘em ‘all’, sing, ‘Tea for Two’.
We raised our voices up and changed our beat
Learnt to walk the, ‘Sunny Side of the Street’.
